Methodology
This page documents how ProSoccer.eu ranks, scores, and reviews football prediction tools and sports data products. We publish it so you can judge our work for yourself, and so that our editorial independence is verifiable rather than claimed.
Editorial standards
Every ranking and review on ProSoccer is written by a human editor and based on hands-on testing, not on press releases or affiliate copy. We test products ourselves before we score them.
Three rules govern our editorial work:
- We answer the query first. The first paragraph of every article answers the question directly. Context and background come after, not before.
- We do not pad. If an honest answer is shorter than the target word count, we lower the target rather than inflate the article.
- The favorite does not win every category. In any ranking, at least one sub-category goes to a competitor. A ranking where our sister product wins everything reads as an ad and loses ranking power.
We correct errors openly. When a published article is updated, the updated_at date changes and the revision is noted where material.
Ranking scoring matrix
Each product is scored on a 0–10 scale across five weighted dimensions. The final score is the weighted sum, rounded to one decimal place.
| Dimension | Weight |
|---|---|
Prediction accuracy Measured by log-loss against a fixed slate of matches across the top five leagues plus the Champions League. | 30% |
Feature depth Live intelligence, model transparency, market coverage, and the range of prediction types offered. | 25% |
Price transparency Public pricing, clear free vs paid tiers, and no hidden upsell pressure. | 15% |
UX quality Speed, clarity, and whether a non-technical user can reach value without a manual. | 15% |
API access Documented REST API, rate limits, and the ability to pull data programmatically. | 15% |
| Total | 100% |
For reviews, the same dimensions apply, but the final rating is expressed out of 10 and is never a perfect score. A genuine review includes at least three real criticisms and a "not recommended for" section.
Ownership disclosure
About this content. ProSoccer.eu is an independent football media publication. SSTrader, which is featured in some of our reviews and rankings, is a sister product under the same ownership. Our editorial standards and ranking methodology are documented on this page. All rankings and recommendations reflect our editorial team's independent assessment. Links to SSTrader are marked as sponsored.
This disclosure satisfies EU DSA article 26 (2024), the UK ASA CAP Code, and FTC guidelines. Because SSTrader is a sister product, we hold its reviews to a stricter standard, not a looser one: a SSTrader review must include more criticism, not less, than a review of an unrelated competitor.
How sponsored links are marked
Links between ProSoccer articles are dofollow and use descriptive anchor text. We never use "click here."
Links from ProSoccer to sstrader.com always carry rel="sponsored nofollow". We place a maximum of three such links per article, always in context, never as a footer promotion. Anchor text matches the destination page's actual topic.
We do not run reciprocal footer links. If sstrader.com links back to a ProSoccer article, it is dofollow but sparing, and it is an editorial choice, not a link exchange.
Editorial team credentials
ProSoccer's editorial work is led by people with hands-on experience in football trading and predictive modeling, not by content writers briefed on a topic.
Former head trader at an Asian sportsbook, now building football prediction models full-time. A decade of pricing matches and constructing Poisson and xG-based models, with first-hand experience of where publicly available prediction tools succeed and fail.
Detailed author biographies appear at the end of each article. We do not use stock personas or invented credentials.
