Football in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina football clubs were part of Yugoslavia till 1992 year when the country became independent. Football league system along with National football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina is governed by organization named Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina. National football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina also start to participate in international tournaments since 1992 year. In his short history national football team qualified only once in FIFA World Cup during 2014 year and reached group stage. The team never participate in UEFA European Championship. Bosnia and Herzegovina takes 59th place in FIFA all-time table.
Football league system is performed by top 2 divisions named Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina – highest division in the country built by 12 clubs. The second highest division is split in two groups. First is First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – 16 clubs and the other is First League of Republika Srpska – 12 clubs.
